CRD is enrolled in Google Search's Trusted Copyright Removal Program. This page explains what that status changes, and what it does not.
Why Google runs this program
Google receives a volume of removal requests its public form cannot absorb without drowning in mistaken or bad-faith ones. The program reserves a channel for filers whose record shows they send accurate requests.
What the status provides
- Access to a dedicated submission channel, instead of the public form.
- Handling at a volume the public form cannot sustain.
- A tracked compliance record: malformed or abusive requests cost the status.
What the status is not
- It is not a commercial partnership with Google.
- It is not a guarantee of removal: every request is still judged on its merits.
- It removes nothing from the source site. De-indexing removes the link from results, not the file from its host.
- It affects no ranking, ours or anyone else's.
Where it fits in a case
De-indexing is the last route, not the first. We go to the platform, then to its host or registrar. Google de-indexing comes in when the content stays up regardless: it cuts access through search, which is how nearly everyone would have found the page.

Verification
The program has no public directory: Google does not publish its list of trusted filers. A journalist wanting to verify this can write to us and we will provide the corresponding correspondence.
