    Reporting content is not enough. Half of platforms do not respond.

    CRD tracks 514 platforms and measures, for each one, the share of reported content that actually comes down. Here is what the 69 platforms with enough volume showed in August 2026.

    This rate measures what the platform does when notified. It does not describe what happens to the leak: our clients see a higher removal rate, because a refused notice is not the end of the procedure. Escalation to the host, to the registrar, or Google de-indexing: the content goes by another route.

    An average hiding two behaviours

    Sorted by removal rate, platforms do not cluster around the average: they pile up at both ends. A site either honours notices or ignores them, rarely anything between.

    What decides the outcome: the contact route

    The gap is not about how the notice is written. It depends on what the platform will accept.

    How they are reached

    Almost everything still goes through an abuse address. It is also why losing one contact is enough to drop a site into the group that removes nothing.

    Method

    • Measured on notices CRD actually sent and replies actually received, not on a declared panel.
    • A platform enters the calculation from 10 notices in the month. The rest are tracked but not published: too little volume for an honest rate.
    • The overall rate is volume-weighted, so a marginal platform does not count as much as a major one.
    • This figure counts notices, not leaks. The removal rate published elsewhere on the site counts client leaks resolved by every route, escalation and de-indexing included: two different measurements, deliberately.
    • No platform is named here. The report describes what the sector does, not an accusation against a specific site. The per-platform detail exists: to obtain it, contact us.
    • First period published: no comparison over time yet. The trend appears from next month.
